Has served as Chair of the Preservation and Reformatting Section in ALA, Chair of the Preservation Advisory Council for RLG, and Chair of the New York State Conservation/Preservation of Library Materials Program Executive Committee, as well as working on many other committees and task forces. Currently a member of NISO's Standards Development Committee, and a technical advisor to the American Society for Testing and Materials Research Program on Paper Aging. Has written and spoken on many aspects of preservation, including selection for digitization, and has managed projects for microfilming, digitization, and audio preservation.
